Watch this short video to learn about the last government services and operations climate plan.

Next Climate Plan

As of 2019, we had reduced emissions by over 30% from our 2003 baseline, meeting the goal of our 2010-2020 Climate Action Plan for Government Services and Operations. Now we are at work on a new climate action and resilience plan for government services and operations to be finalized in 2023. The updated plan will help us further reduce our contributions to global warming and enhance our community's resilience to climate impacts such as wildfire smoke and extreme heat.

Survey

The community survey was open September 7 to 30, 2021. Thank you to everyone who participated. This report summarizes the survey results.

Focus Groups and Targeted Outreach

Focus groups, door-to-door surveys, and other targeted outreach in September and October 2021 helped us hear directly and in depth from community members, particularly those hardest to reach or most affected by climate impacts. A report summarizing key input from focus groups will be posted soon.

Equity Tool

Through the community input, residents shared that existing social and economic inequities are worsened by the impacts of climate change. To review proposed climate projects with the goal of increasing benefits and reducing burdens to frontline communities, project teams applied an equity amplification tool. Other organizations working on climate plans are welcome to modify and apply the tool.
